Fused Ceramic Sand and Sintered Ceramsite 1

Fused ceramic sand and sintered ceramsite have developed rapidly in recent years. They are both artificial sand. The raw materials used for the production of these two kinds of artificial sand are the same kind of raw materials, namely aluminum oxide ore. Fused ceramic sand is produced by electric melting method, and has been applied in casting earlier, especially in wear-resistant castings, stainless steel and other steel castings, with good effect. Sintered ceramsite is produced by sintering method, which is relatively late in casting. Compared with silica sand, fused fused ceramic sand and sintered ceramsite are both better artificial sand, but the physical properties of fused ceramic sand and sintered ceramsite are different.

Different production processes

Fused ceramic sand is a production process formed by melting the sintered material of aluminum trioxide at more than 2000 with electrode arc and cooling the ball by high-pressure air blowing; Sintered ceramsite is made of aluminum oxide, ground into powder, sprayed with water, rolled in a ball shaker, and sintered at about 1400 degrees. One of the differences between the two production processes is the production process of blowing out pearl sand after electric melting, and the production process of water spray shaking ball sintering into spherical sand.

Comparison of two kinds of artificial sand

1. If the surface holes of sintered ceramsite are not dense, there will be more residual resin, and the theoretical gas generation is large.

2. When mechanical regeneration is used, if the residual resin in the hole cannot be removed, the burning loss is relatively high. If thermal regeneration is used, the residue in the hole can be burned.

3. The specific gravity of fused ceramic sand pile is 2.0 and the specific gravity of sintered ceramsite pile is 1.6, which shows that the cooling effect of Fused ceramic sand is better than that of sintered ceramsite from one side.

4. Fused ceramic sand is made of aluminum oxide, which has been melted by electricity and is more pure; Sintered ceramsite is the grinding powder of aluminum oxide raw material, which is sintered at low temperature, and there are relatively more impurities in it.

Analysis from the perspective of mechanical regeneration difficulty

Mechanical regeneration process for silica sand, in the process of film removal, sharp angle sand is also a process of angular rounding. Fused ceramic sand is a nearly circular sphere with an angle coefficient of 1.05. Its surface is smooth, and the resistance to film removal by mechanical regeneration is small. It is easy to remove the film on the surface of the smooth sphere, and there is little wear.

The surface of sintered ceramsite is slightly less smooth, and there are a large number of holes and undulating surfaces. The thickness of resin film is relatively large, and the resistance to remove the residual resin film is slightly larger.
