Basic Features and Advantages of Ceramic sand

Production Process of Ceramic sand

The production of ceramic sand is to select high-quality bauxite raw materials, melt in electric arc furnace, when the molten liquid flows out of the furnace when it flows out, it is blown away with a stream of compressed air. After cooling, spherical or nearly spherical particles with smooth surfaces are obtained.

Performance of Ceramic Sand

1. Compact spherical granularity: The granularity is spherical, with smooth surface and small surface area, and excellent fluidity and fillability. Therefore, it can significantly reduce the amount of binder used compared to other molding sands while achieving good mold strength and high permeability. It also has excellent collapsibility.

2. Low thermal expansion rate: The thermal expansion rate is lower than that of other casting sands. Therefore, the dimensional accuracy of the produced castings is high, with fewer cracks and defects, and a high yield rate of finished castings.

3. Good crushability: The beads are dense in volume and have high strength, and they rarely break even after repeated recycling, significantly improving the recycling rate of molding sand and reducing waste sand emissions, which is beneficial for environmental protection.

4. High refractoriness: The main component is aluminum trioxide, with a neutral pH value, belonging to the aluminum silicon seriesThe refractory material has excellent refractory performance and can meet the requirements of casting various metals and alloys.

Silica Sand VS Ceramic Sand

1. The refractoriness of ceramic sand is higher than that of silica sand, and the compactness of the filling during molding is high, thus improving the surface quality of castings and reducing the reject rate in production

2. The fluidity is very good, and it is easy to fill the complex shapes of castings, including difficult-to-fill areas such as internal angles, deep recesses, and flat holes. Therefore, it can significantly reduce the sand inclusion defects in these areas, and greatly reduce the workload of cleaning and finishing;

3. Good resistance to fragmentation, high recovery rate, and corresponding reduction in waste emissions;

4. Small thermal expansion rate and good thermal stability, no expansion defects caused by secondary phase transition, greatly improving the dimensional accuracy

Although the price of ceramic sand is much higher than that of silica sand, if used properly, the overall calculation shows that it can not only significantly improve the quality of castings, but

also reduce production cost.

Chromite Sand VS Ceramic Sand

1. Reduce the cost of using high-quality molding sand by piling less than the density of chromite ore sand

2. The particle shape is very similar to spherical, and the amount of binder used is small

3. Good resistance to fragmentation, improved recycling rate, and good regenerability

4. Chromium and its compounds in chromite ore can cause heavy metal pollution, andBaozhu sand on the environmentNon-polluting, conducive to environmental protection

Zircon Sand VS Ceramic Sand

1. The ceramic sand is very similar to spherical shape, and the amount of binder used is less

2. Compared to the resource-scarce and expensive Zircon sand, The raw materials of ceramic sand are abundant and the price is low.

3. Ceramic sand has good wear-resistant property, high recycling rate and can be recycled, which protects the environment and avoid the harm of radioactivity to front-line workers.
